Treecycling campaign raises over £100,000 for Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice

Fitzgerald employees once again teamed up with Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice on Saturday (15th January) to volunteer as drivers, tree collectors and navigators for the Christmas Treecycling charity fundraiser.

Our company vans were out in force on a frosty but bright morning on the streets of Birmingham, Sandwell and Solihull to help to collect in excess of 5,500 used Christmas trees from local residents in return for a donation to the charity.

The trees will be recycled in a sustainable way and used for compost and biomass fuel. This year’s campaign has so far raised a fantastic £100,000 with every penny raised going directly to the Hospice to continue providing care and support for local families living with life-limiting illness.

Fitzgerald Managing Director Nick Coley said: ‘We have a long-standing partnership with Birmingham St Mary’s and this is the 8th year that Fitzgerald have worked with the Hospice for the Treecycling campaign. The feedback I’ve received from our employees who volunteered has been really positive and they really enjoyed helping out during the collection weekend, and I’d like to say a massive thank you for their help and support.’
