The company have successfully delivered the construction of a new access road including roundabout and carriageway re-profiling for a new Sainsbury’s Supermarket store. Key works involved the installation of highway drainage, a new foul water sewer requiring two Section 104 agreements. The Section 38 works involved the construction of a circulatory road system linking the new access from Macclesfield Road with the new Sainsbury’s and industrial units. The road also required two new bridges to be constructed over the River Churnet within the main body of the Section 38 works along with a third bridge for future development. The scope of works included:

• Section 278 and Section 38 Works
• Installation of drainage (foul and highway)
• Carriageway works, excavation, capping layer, sub-base, tarmac
• Kerbing, footpath edgings including footpath surfacing and deterrent paving
• Installation of service ducts for street lighting and illuminated signs
• Installation of street lighting (columns varying from 6m to 12m)
• Section 38 bridge works involving temporary sheet piling, and installation of CFA piles and reinforced concrete abutments
• Provision of reinforced concrete parapet walls
