Safety, Health & Well-being

In 2021 the company saw significant growth, a rise in total man-hours and an increase in the challenging nature of projects that we work on, and we’re very proud that we have achieved this safely with zero RIDDOR’s.

We continue to review and improve our workplace health and well-being initiatives. We support CECA’s ‘Stop. Make a Change’ campaign, a joint national initiative which promotes and targets improvements in health & wellbeing in construction, with events and discussions taking place across our sites and offices during 2021.

We actively take part in National Stress Awareness Month, whereby employees can take a stress quiz and get access to stress management guidance and counselling. We also have access to a fantastic service through our occupational health partner and Employee Assistance Programme which provides a dedicated telephone line for employees to talk to trained people and discuss how their lives can be improved.

We are currently in the process of becoming an active supporter of Mates in Mind, which aims to raise awareness, address the stigma of poor mental health and improve positive mental wellbeing in the UK construction industry. Many leading contractors and industry supply chain members are involved as Mates in Mind seeks to reach100,000 workers in its first year and by 2025 to have reached 75% of the construction industry.
