Institution of Civil Engineers Accolade for Centenary Square Project

Fitzgerald were delighted to receive a Commended accolade for our Centenary Square Redevelopment scheme at the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) Awards ceremony on 19th November.

Fitzgerald worked in partnership with client Birmingham City Council, Bouygues UK and Graeme Massie Architects to undertake public realm works at Centenary Square.

As a flagship project for Birmingham’s Big City Plan the scheme involved the installation of high-specification paving, including 12,500m2 of granite setts ethically sourced from China and individually laid by Fitzgerald’s in-house skilled paviors, making it Europe’s largest public realm paving scheme in 2019.

Well done to our site and office teams and supply chain partners whose collective efforts contributed to the delivery of a fantastic new public square in the heart of Birmingham.
