The contract involved undertaking upgrade works at the household waste recycling centre site to reduce peak hours queuing and improve the overall experience to users and staff.

The works involved widening the perimeter road over the majority of its length to two lanes, reducing queues and improving flow of traffic. The creation of formalised pull in areas, improved pavement finishes in both tarmac and new concrete slabs. The reprofiling of grass margins and improvement to the soft landscaping. Further works involved new ‘saw tooth’ in-situ concrete retaining wall with parapet and handrail.
