A34 High Street, Bloxwich

A complex junction improvement scheme delivered in partnership with Walsall Council. The scheme involved working in a busy urban thoroughfare to construct and improve new bus priority measures for a new “Red Route” consisting of the construction of bus borders, installation of traffic signalled junctions and pedestrian crossings, carriageway resurfacing, hard landscaping works, the creation of car parking bays, the installation of road signs and the co-ordination of diversion works for statutory undertaker’s equipment.

Bloxwich is important for local traders and shoppers but it is also one of the main routes through the north of the Borough. The main purpose of the works along Bloxwich High Street was to create a balance between these conflicting priorities so that the economic vitality of the town could be enhanced whilst reducing congestion along the route.
