Partnership working is one of our core values and we are committed to working in a non-adversarial way on an open-book basis.

We have a number of partnering arrangements with a range of clients including Birmingham City Council, Wolverhampton City Council, Walsall Council, Sandwell MBC and the Highways Agency through their Managing Agent contracts (MAC) and Asset Support Contracts (ASC) where we are delivering a range of highways and civil engineering schemes.

Birmingham City Council Highways and Infrastructure Works Frameworks Agreement 2014-2018

Fitzgerald Contractors have been appointed by Birmingham City Council as one of its preferred highways improvements contractors from 2014 to 2018.

The Highways and Infrastructure Works Frameworks Agreement has been divided into four lots governing minor and major works in the West Midlands.

Fitzgerald Contractors are one of only two companies who have been appointed under all four lots of the framework, which is estimated to deliver £200m of works. The framework can also be utilised by other West Midlands public sector bodies which has the potential to increase the works programme significantly.

Framework Agreement for Civil Engineering Works

Fitzgerald Contractors are the only contractor to have been appointed to all 3 Lots of the Centro Civil Engineering Framework. The Framework is utilised by Centro and Local Authorities within the Midlands to procure Civil Engineering works.

The Framework ended in December 2017 and was utilised to procure highway improvements, public realm schemes, traffic safety schemes, footway schemes, environmental improvements and park and ride schemes.

Under the Centro Framework Fitzgerald have carried out work for Wolverhampton City Council, Sandwell Borough Council, Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council and Birmingham City Council.

Warwickshire CC Engineering and Construction Works Framework 2014-2018

Fitzgerald Contractors have been appointed to Lots 1,3 and 5 of the Warwickshire County Council Framework Contract for the Provision of Engineering and Construction Works 2014.

The framework covers highway, structural and other civil engineering works including agricultural buildings and waste recycling site works.

The framework will run for a four-year period ending in 2018 and enables Fitzgerald Contractors to continue their excellent working relationship with Warwickshire County Council that has been established over many years.

Telford and Wrekin Council Minor Capital Works Framework 2016-2019

We are currently delivering a number of strategically important schemes under the Minor Capital Works Framework, which runs until 31st March 2019.

The works typically comprise of general highway improvements and highway maintenance works, traffic safety schemes, footway schemes, junction improvements and environmental improvements.
 
Having successfully completed the initial two-year framework, from 2003 to 2005 we were reappointed to the new two-year framework up until 2007, and went on to deliver works within a three-year framework for the period 2012-2015.

Birmingham City Council Footway Maintenance Contract 2008-2010

This two-year framework ran from 2008 to 2010 and comprised of the provision of reactive and planned footway maintenance and support for the winter maintenance programme for Birmingham City Council. In total we delivered 110 schemes under the framework with a combined value of £3.8 million.

Sandwell MBC Framework Contract for Minor Works 2010-2012

This contract has comprised of the provision of general highway improvements for Sandwell MBC including highway improvements, traffic safety schemes, footway schemes and environmental improvements. Having successfully completed the initial four-year framework from 2006 to 2010, Fitzgerald were reappointed on a subsequent new framework in January 2010 which ran until December 2012. The value of works throughout the duration of the programme has equated to circa £2 million per annum.
 
In total we have delivered in excess of 30 contracts under the Framework ranging in value from £5,000 up to £1 million, with a combined value of £4 million.

Wolverhampton City Council Highway Improvements and Alterations

This 10-year programme comprised of the provision of general highway improvements for Wolverhampton City Council including highway improvements, public realm schemes, traffic safety schemes, footway schemes, environmental improvements and home zones.

Walsall Council Transportation Capital Framework 2009-2013

This four-year framework from 2009 to 2013 is valued at £40 million and consists of the delivery of “Red Route” and other strategic highway improvements across the borough.
