The scheme was part of the construction of a new Asda store in Swinton near Manchester. The S278 highway improvements included a new mini roundabout entry to the store car park along with footway improvements and formation of on street parking for local residents. At the rear of the store we formed a further mini roundabout for the service yard entrance.
Silverwoods Park is a new development in Kidderminster on the site of the former British Sugar Factory. Our works were installation of the foul and storm system under a S104 agreement with Severn Trent. Construction of new accesses off the Stourport Road under a S278 agreement and on site adoptable highway under a S38 agreement.
The scheme was at the old Long Marston airfield not far from Stratford with the S278 works constructing the new mostly offline access roundabout to the development with the first phase of residential development commencing even before the highways were completed.
Prologis Park is a new development on the outskirts of Coventry on the site of the old Peugeot factory. Our works were construction of a new, mostly offline roundabout access to the development on the A423 Oxford Road.
This scheme incorporated section 278 works to the new £77 million campus in West Bromwich. The scheme was integral to the regeneration of one of the UK’s most disadvantaged regions.
The 15 week programme incorporated a high quality landscaped piazza which links the entrance of the new college to the main pedestrian routes from the town centre and Metro.
Public realm works to the piazza consisted of premium paving and seating areas. Additonal works included surfacing works to a car parking area along with gabion walls.
A Section 278 highway improvement scheme for a major development in Shirley. The main section of works involved converting an existing signalised cross roads on a major arterial route into Birmingham carrying significant and constant high levels of traffic flow, into a signalised gyratory to greatly improve the through flow.
Due to the site location next to a BT exchange, a major diversion of the BT was required with a 48 way BT duct and large reinforced concrete chambers being constructed.
This scheme was implemented to tackle congestion and road safety issues at this busy junction on one of the Principal routes into Wolverhampton City centre and was delivered as part of our C2 Highway Improvements and Alterations Partnering Contract.
The scheme involved widening the carriageway and the construction of two mini roundabouts with splitter islands at the junction of the A4124 Lichfield Road with Linthouse Lane and Stubby Lane and incorporated carriageway widening and reconstruction
This scheme was delivered as part of our C2 Highway Improvements and Alterations Partnering Contract and involved a highway improvement scheme delivered at a roundabout junction of the City Centre Ring Road with the A449 Penn Road.
The scheme involved the widening of the roundabout to create a two lane exit off the Ring Road on to the busy A449 southbound of the City Centre and involved carriageway widening, new footway construction, construction of a retaining wall, filling of a subway, installation of ducting to accommodate utility diversions, a traffic controlled pedestrian crossing, installation of pedestrian guardrail, soft landscaping works, installation of road traffic signs and the eradication of Japanese knotweed.
A 1.0 km scheme undertaken on an access route to the Dickens Heath Village development to improve and widen the existing highway including constructing a new roundabout, installation of drainage and culverts and the installation of street lighting and signing.
