Highway Construction

City Circuit, MIRA

£2 million

The construction of the InnoVITS Advanced City Circuit at the renowned Motor Industry Research Association testing facility near Nuneaton in Warwickshire. The purpose of the scheme was to imitate city streets and provide a safe environment for the testing of future transport innovations and vehicle technologies.

The project provided a unique challenge requiring innovative solutions to enable the scheme to be delivered within with the Client’s operational and financial constraints. This involved extensive value engineering of the scheme to meet the Client’s aspirations and included lime stabilised sub-grade to improve CBR, EME2 asphalt for improved carriageway strength and longevity.

Silverwoods Park

£3.1 million

Silverwoods Park is a new development in Kidderminster on the site of the former British Sugar Factory. Our works were installation of the foul and storm system under a S104 agreement with Severn Trent. Construction of new accesses off the Stourport Road under a S278 agreement and on site adoptable highway under a S38 agreement.

Sainsburys, Leek

£3.2 million

Construction of a new access road including roundabout and carriageway re-profiling for a new Sainsburys and industrial units. Other works involved the installation of highway drainage a new foul water sewer requiring two S104 agreements. The Section 38 works involved the construction of a circulatory road system linking the new access off the Macclesfield Road with the new Sainsbury and Industrial Units. The road required two new bridges to be constructed over the River Churnet within the main body of the Section 38 works along with a third bridge for future development.

Birmingham Airport

£700,000

A 24 week project which involved remediation of an existing brown field site, along with the construction of a new access road, hotel car park and short stay car park on part of Birmingham Airport’s Elmdon site.

Swan Centre, Yardley

£1.7 million

An award winning Design and Build scheme that involved the diversion and modifications to the A4040 Church Road in Yardley, Birmingham. The works consisted of the construction of a new highway and modifications and diversions to tie into the existing highway network.

All the works were undertaken as part of Section 38 and 278 agreements on Spenhill’s redevelopment of the Swan Centre in Birmingham, a mixed use development consisting of a mixture of retail units and a new Tesco Extra store This involved working closely with the main contractor to ensure the works were completed in advance of the opening of the development

Tern Valley Business Park

£1.1. million

The overall objective of the project was to create jobs and provide the infrastructure for established companies to expand and involved the construction of a new 440m long spine road consisting of a 7.3m wide carriageway along with associated 3.5m wide footway/cycleway to one side of the carriageway and a 2m wide footway on the other.
