Four brave souls from Fitzgerald joined Birmingham St Mary Hospice and other fundraisers for their first ever Fright or Flight event.
Fright or Flight was St Mary Hospice first ever abseil and stair rush event, held at the Park Regis Birmingham on the 4th November 2016. Teams abseiled 48m down the Park Regis followed by a race up the stairs to the 16th floor.
As tag teams Jo and Kate and Sangeeta and Sophia completed the challenge and raised over £1000 for St Mary’s Hospice which is Fitzgerald Contractors nominated Charity.
Birmingham St Mary Hospice said ‘Over £14,500 has been raised so far for the Hospice and we’d like to thank all of our fantastic fundraisers!’
St Mary Hospice care for over 1,200 terminally ill people each year, helping them to make the most of the time they have left. It costs over £8 million a year to run the Hospice and to provide crucial specialist care within the community, This includes caring for patients both at home and with the Hospice itself giving patients the choice to remain where they feel most comfortable.
