Fitzgerald Contractors Limited has continued its remarkable progress with a record financial performance in the year to 31 March 2016.
Whilst Turnover fell slightly to £32m, net profit exceeded £2m, an increase of over 35% from the previous year.
The results represent a meteoric turnaround for the business since the Management Buyout from its’ French Parent in 2013, the last three years have seen turnover double and the business move from a loss making position to profits in excess of £2m.
Furthermore, looking forward, Fitzgerald have recently secured a number of significant awards from existing and new clients, across a number of sectors, which has resulted in a record level of forward orders.
Fitzgeralds’ Principle Shareholder and Managing Director Nick Coley confirmed:
‘We are delighted that our financial performance in 2015/16 continues the progress of the business in line with our Strategic Objectives. We continue to work across multiple sectors for a wide and varied Client base. This ensures that we can be selective in the contracts we undertake, and can remain focussed on providing excellent Customer Service. That is the key to our ongoing success.
As a Regional Contractor who self-delivers projects, through a directly employed labour force, we believe we have a unique offering that is valued by our Clients. In particular our ability to offer a ‘single point of delivery’ for Highways Schemes is extremely valuable, in a market that is facing skills shortages, and a reducing number of competent, reliable specialist contractors.
We have currently secured over 60% of our budgeted turnover for the coming year which is ahead of target, and this gives us confidence that we will continue to exceed the targets that we have set, and that we will continue to develop and improve the business year on year’.
