Fitzgerald Contractors are delighted to have met the standard to be awarded ‘The Birmingham Business Charter for Social Responsibility’.
The award recognises companies who have not only acknowledged the importance of corporate social responsibility, but have committed through an accredited action plan to help improve the economic, social and environmental well-being of Birmingham’s citizens and are willing to actively demonstrate that these values are embedded into the heart of their businesses.
The award follows Fitzgerald Contractors appointment by Birmingham City Council as one of its’ preferred highways improvements contractors to 2018.
The Highways and Infrastructure Works Framework Agreement has been broken down into four lots governing minor and major works in the West Midlands.
Fitzgerald Contractors are one of only two Contractors who have been appointed under all four lots of the Framework, which is estimated to be a £200m works programme. The Framework can also be utilised by other West Midland public sector bodies which has the potential to increase the works programme significantly.
Councillor Stewart Stacey, the Cabinet Member for Commissioning, Contracting & Improvement confirmed:
‘I would like to thank you and your company for taking this valuable step forward and joining the ‘club’ of those who sign up to “the Birmingham way of doing business”. We look forward to your achievements through the coming years’.
